What was the highlight of Maxbe Continental Hotel

Overall good - will stay again

Decent hotel, fairly new. My room was large and well appointed. Staff were friendly and helpful. Location is excellent, really nice and central with easy access to every part of Enugu town. Also a very secure location. The WiFi worked pretty well, which was a pleasant surprise (finding good WiFi can be difficult in Nigeria). Hotel is pricy compared to other places in Enugu, but you get what you pay for I suppose.

The little kettle in my room didn't work, and housekeeping were not able to get me a functioning one as they did not have a spare and were booked to capacity (so could not swap). I am a big tea drinker, so was a little inconvenient having to ring room service repeatedly to refill my teapot.

Size of the room

No towels in room and when I asked only a single towel was brought. The beverages in the room were virtually non existent. Air conditioner had to be fixed when I was already in the room and found it not to be working well. Limited tv channels.

Starting to see problems and lack of detail.

We have stayed here several times of the last 3 years. We love the location and the employees are very attentive and helpful.

I will say that since the MaxBe opened, like many places in Nigeria, time is taking a toll on the establishment and there is no attention to detail or repairing things as they spoil. For example in our room (314), the shower has mold. The privacy blind when it comes down has mold all over it. This is a easy solution, if only some detail was put into it. Also there is mold along the outside caulking of the glass. Evidentally there were leaks between the glass that looks out from the shower to the room and they has been repaired with sealer tape that looks like masking tape that wraps a box for shipment. Again, easy fix, caulking. Also, the counter has a long crack in the edge of the marble, just waiting for it to fall off. We do like this place, it has many good attributes, but I hate to think that over the next three years without any attention being taken to repair the ongoing needs it will be like many other places around Enugu, places we would not waste our naira at.

Nice, reserve, quiet… if you need a quiet place to stay and relax… the rooms are extra spacious!!!

The breakfast is great, well made and good options to choose from. lol… looking forward to tomorrow’s breakfast as well. Glad it’s bed and breakfast though. The bathrooms are nice, spacious as well. Nice wardrobe, nice blinds.the facility is well maintained. Staff are excellent, courteous and respond well.

The TV should have more channels and the picture quality wasn’t clear enough. I ended up having to watch the football channel which was the only clear channel. The bathroom is quite transparent so if you are sharing a room with someone, there is no privacy. The bathroom blinds are rusted and stained, would be nice if they are changed. Quite unpleasant to the sight for a hotel as good as this. Couldn’t get floor towels for the two days period I stayed even though I requested thrice, one could slip when stepping out of the bath.

Clean and reasonably comfortabe choice in Enugu

You can get the staff to change many things to the better - don't hesitate to ask, people are nice and rather service minded. The hotel is reasonably clean. Tasty breakfast.

WiFi is very unstable, sometimes would not connect at all, other times running very fine, but you never know what to expect. Strange things happen, like we found a paid of black underpants that definitely did not belong to an of us in the room.... Only one towel per person - not nice (but go to reception and demand more, it works) The sun beds at the pool area were only rented for pictures - there aren't any. Strong smell of breakfast enters the room at 7am

Friendly place to stay.

Staff are super friendly. Nice comfortable rooms with plenty of space.

Not much choice on TV. Safe was in a funny place. Was 5 days before i found it and wasn't going to get on my hands and knees to use it.

My overnight stay was very refreshing and relaxing.

I liked the location, the welcome from the staff (they seemed to anticipate my needs before I could turn to them for help. The room service was good and prompt. The room was quite clean and comfortable. It was also quiet and peaceful.

Was a memorable stay and will surely recommend the place to friends

The staff were helpful and the bed was comfy. Nice Location.

I didn’t like the fact that in the course Of booking, I saw the Naira rate for 2nights and got to the hotel and a different exchange rate was used. The gym doesn’t have at least a bench to lie on and no disposable serviette to clean sweat of someone else who have used the machines. One can contact disease easily

My stay was good. Need for improvement in identified areas.

Breakfast almost finished by 9.30am and what was left was cold. The environment was quiet. The staff were quite charming.

TV size could be bigger. The towels are not standard. Only one small towel in the room.

The bed maybe and the shower . The room almost had an aesthetic feel but one or two details were missing which throws everything off .

*The is sorgy evweytime it gets served like the steak, salad and rice i order , doesnt taste fresh . *The pool is so small *The room you have to call for towel , no hotel slippers or robe for the amount paid this should be neccesary . *The resturant position is bad , not close to the rooms its in the basement . *The ac is noisy and doesnt cool ( wall Ac Unit not split unit ) *The morning buffet are left overs from previous day .. only 3 options yam and egg , Rice and stew or tge rice variants and bread and tea. *The price of the hotel is inflated the management needa to work on pricing if the want to be in business for long ...yoi cant deceive people all the time with 8.8 rating

The facility was clean and quiet, yet lively. It felt safe.

The menu was healthy and well balanced. The atmosphere was quite relaxing and serene. Also the room I booked was not available, rather than turn us away, we got an upgrade at no extra cost.

It was good. They need more towels in the bathroom. I just didn't have time to stay longer and savour it

I was satisfied with my stay

I liked the view into the shower from the bedroom. the lighting was good. Breakfast was okay, though the Chef had never made Hash Browns before and served some flacid potato cakes. The pool was okay, needs to be maintained better, considering that there is no water in Enugu and water has to be bought in tanks. Room Service was good and on time. The bed room was comfortable, neutral colors, comfortable bed and a beautiful bathroom. The hotel had a neat environment, decent staffing and clean bedding's. Water pressure in the shower was good, which is a luxury in Enugu.

The Breakfast could be better and the pool could be cleaner. The shower drainage in my room did not drain out properly. There was also a slight odour in the toilet.

Beautiful classy hotel

The bed is spacious and comfy with quality linen. The rooms are stylishly put together. The pool area and the gym are great too.

It's the little things that count, some staff members are not customer service orientated. They need to be proactive.

Good location, but stuffy

The room is spacious and offers a nice view. The manager was also nice.

The room had a stuffy smell as did most of the hotel, which is strange taking into account how new it is. The gym is super tiny. The food in the restaurant wasn't good.
